Can two bartenders run the same till on one night?
Each person opens their own cash session and closes it with their own count, so the night can hold several. The gap lands on the session, not on the shift after it.
Does the closing balance carry into the next shift automatically?
No. The person coming on enters the opening float they were handed. That is a deliberate handover, and it is the moment a mismatch shows up.
How are 2am finishes handled on the roster?
A shift template can end on the following day, so an overnight shift is one shift with the right number of hours against it.
Does it connect to the POS?
No. The manager enters the shift total. That keeps the close independent of whichever till system the bar runs.
How does a session get explained the next morning?
Cash sessions, petty-cash vouchers and electricity payments keep the history of what changed and who changed it, so the night can be read back rather than reconstructed from memory.
